For many people just opening a window is a problem. Having to stretch over the kitchen sink or bath is impossible, so how do you open that window and let the fresh air in? fit a window opener.
There are three types of openers :
- Manual openers are simple and cheap. You have a winding handle that is connected with a tele flex cable to a chain drive fitted to the window. Turn the handle and the window will open or close.
- Battery powered openers have a simple remote, press one button and the window opens press the other and it will close. They are relatively cheap, easy to install but you must be able to reach the window to change the batteries, the batteries will however last for many hundreds of openings and closing.
- Electric powered openers are by far the most costly, but you can get them with many useful and not so useful optional extras such as rain sensors that automatically close the window when it starts to rain.
